Voltwise Power is a project developer, owner and operator of large-scale battery storage systems based in Germany and the UK. The company was founded by infrastructure investor Sandbrook Capital to provide sustainable, long-term solutions that help to integrate renewable energies into our energy system and stabilise the electricity grid.

Russell’s extensive career includes leadership roles in both energy companies and advisory firms. Most recently, Russell was CEO of NEO Energy, which grew five-fold under Russell’s tenure to become the UK’s fifth largest oil & gas producer. For the 12 years prior to this role, Russell led global Finance and M&A teams at Equinor and Centrica, executing over $25bn of transactions to build and finance businesses across the broad energy sector value chain. Earlier in Russell’s career he spent 10 years in Investment Banking and Management Consulting with Merrill Lynch, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and HSBC, largely focussed on strategy, M&A, financing and organisation for energy sector clients. Russell is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Nitin was previously the SVP of Finance & M&A at Broad Reach Power in the United States, a battery storage developer and operator with assets in Texas and California. He led the acquisition of several projects with a total capacity >600MW along with leading the valuation efforts for a >6GW greenfield pipeline. He was also responsible for all capital raising efforts for the company, including $125MM of Senior Secured Credit Facilities for Broad Reach’s operating ERCOT projects. Prior to Broad Reach Power, Nitin was a Vice President at GE Energy Financial Services where he led underwriting efforts for Midstream assets. Nitin completed his MBA at The Wharton School and is a CFA Charterholder.

Gerard has 28 years experience in the energy sector and has led teams in the development of more than 7GW of power generation assets. His previous roles included executive role at Sembcorp Industries where at various times he led the trading and asset development teams and was part of the team that acquired UK Power Reserves gas peaker and BESS asset portfolio. As well as being a key part of the executive team,  Gerard’s primary focus will be development of UK Energy Assets.

Thorsten held various management and CxO positions in the Energy and Telecommunication industry throughout the last 26 years, growing headcount from 17 to 70 FTEs in two years. Instrumental in developing and constructing 220MW portfolio of standalone storage assets across Germany. Expanded the company’s relationships with international industrial and commercial counterparties.

Günther has more than 20 years of experience in Senior Executive roles in the energy trading and Power origination space. Recently, he headed up the Power Structuring team at Shell supporting their whole long term European Power portfolio. Günther also set up and oversaw the portfolio management function for one of the largest UK renewables portfolios at Statkraft UK. As member of the Executive team at tech start-up Origami Energy Günther worked with the software development team as interim CTO and was responsible for the prototyping of the Commercial Optimiser at the heart of Origami’s platform. Günther also led the asset trading team at Sembcorp UK that manages one of the largest flex portfolios in the UK.
